A comparison to span the generations
By: Web Editor
Dear MSL,
Hi all, thanks for a great mag. Just the right balance – one suggestion: with regard to the power of modern bikes, it is quite usual to see any bike putting out, say, a mere 70 horses described as not very exciting.
How about a test of a 60s legendary sports bike like a Bonneville against a modern commuter like a kwacker of the same capacity? (I think we're a bit spoilt!)
Tell Maynard that I was in a potentially fatal (but in the event virtually injury-free) head-on crash some years ago, one of those you can see coming for what seems like hours but can do nothing about. It left me somewhat frightened to travel in a car for about six months, any oncoming traffic causing me to grip the seat with some desperation – got over it, though.
More from Nick James too please, most amusing style, and AC is always the highlight of the read, long may you all continue!
Kind regards,
Geoff Keeler

Nice idea Geoff, which bikes should we do this with? Anyone want to see any particular match-ups between old and new? TC
