Editor's Intro
Ha Ha! Gotcha, motorcycle deniers!
3 February 2012
There are times when you’ve got to love the ruling powers that be.
It’s all bad, apparently (that is, according to others)
6 January 2012.
Over and over again I have been told that some things just can’t be done in the world of motorcycling.
The time machine
2 December 2011.
It can be very strange how a single ride on a motorcycle can take you racing into the past...
0.006 of a second sorts it
4 November 2011.
Did you see it? Did you see the final round of the British Superbike championship?
If you didn’t and you can either get access to a British Eurosport highlight show or see the coverage online then I urge you to. Even though you’ll know the result before you see it (especially so if you read this column in its entirety) it won’t detract from the enjoyment too much.
“That’s because you ride like a d***head...”
7 October 2011.
I was talking to a biking mate the other day about the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 I’d just got off. He was asking me what it was like, did I enjoy riding it? Was it as sporty as it looked? You know the conversation.
The passing of legends
2 September 2011.
Just as this issue of MSL was heading out of the door, literally on its way to the printer, the sad news arrived with us that an icon of modern motorcycling had died. Claudio Castiglioni, 64 years old and president of MV Agusta, passed away on August 17 in Varese, Italy after a courageous battle against an illness.
Neigh serf, know thy place...
5 August 2011.
OH boy am I mad. I’m properly wound up right now. Perhaps this isn’t the best time to be writing an editorial column, let alone one that leads into the UK’s best motorcycle magazine but... God I’m angry.
188mph... 189mph... hang on, I’ve had a thought...
1 July 2011.
It was while I was tucked in behind the fairing of a 2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R, casually minding my own business, that a thought came into my head: “We’re going pretty fast on all sorts of motorcycles these days, and in the right environment this is very much fun indeed... but how are we going to develop motorcycles further? Do we actually need all this speed we have right now, for instance?”
That’s fine! ...but just who’s out on patrol?
3 June 2011.
Over the past couple of weeks there has been the odd headline here and there about a Government proposal to charge ‘bad’ drivers up to £100 as an immediate fine for their wrongdoings on the road.
News, bikes, world scoops and an idea for a project bike...
6 May 2011.
It’s been a hectic old month for the motorcycle testing world.
