The last four weeks have made up a month of rather severe contrasts for me. Firstly, on track we’ve had some masterful race performances. Most amazing, most jaw-dropping has to be Josh Brookes over The Mountain at Cadwell Park. It was the second time we’ve been there this season which means that for the first time in modern bike racing history the Superbikers arrived in Lincolnshire with all the settings from the previous outing. This was going to be good stuff.

Valentino Rossi was back out on a bike yesterday evening for the first time since breaking his right leg at Mugello on 5 June. He rode a total of 26 laps at Misano on Cal Crutchlow's YZF-R1 WSB machine, provided by the Yamaha World Superbike Team, and recorded a best time of 1m 38.200.

Third and fourth fastest times for Fabrizio and Haga (Ducati XEROX) during IMOLA testing day one yesterday

The Ducati Xerox team, having only just concluded the Misano race weekend, drove straight to Imola’s “Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari” where, together with the other Superbike teams, they are participating in two days of official testing, scheduled by championship organiser Infront Sports. The penultimate race of the 2010 World Superbike season will take place at the Imola circuit, from 24th to 26th September.
