Now this does sound nasty, and at the moment details are very limited but we understand that TT hero Ian Hutchinson has broken his leg in a fall off a motocross bike.

Hutchinson breaks leg!

Ian Hutchinson earlier this year.

Hutchinson was taking part in a promotional event and appeared to land awkwardly, twisting his left leg in the process. That is the leg that he broke so badly at Silverstone at the end of the 2010 season that surgeons feared it would have to be amputated.

16 surgeries later, the leg was saved and Hutchinson has been signed up to contest the BSB championship and the roads for Swan Yamaha this year.

We'll bring you more news on his condition as we get it. Hutchinson is currently en route to hospital for evaluation of the long-term damage.
