Historic land speed record attempt at Bonneville Salt Flats

by

The dream to beat the land speed record with a gas-powered motorcycle at Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, is more alive than ever.

The Tuscan team manager, Dino Romano, will bring his bike to American soil once again for an absolute record attempt with a gas-powered motorcycle, in a totally ecological project.

Dino will be accompanied by three other pilots. Maurizio Vettor is a well-known tester and Moto.it journalist. Rosaria Fiorentino and Louisa Swaden are renowned motorcyclists and are currently engaged in their own international projects, which include the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride in Rome and the Women Rider’s World Relay.

The dream started last season, but proceedings were interrupted due to a technical failure on the last day, just as the record attempt was about to take place.

The bike will attempt to overcome the 400kmph barrier once more on the expanses of Bonneville Salt Flats during Speed Week from August 10-17, 2019. Changes to the bike and innovative technical solutions have been introduced with the help of Carlo Bartalini, Fabrizio Rossi and Alessio Biagiotti. Brand new inventions, such as the new Air-Cooled Freezer System, will allow ‘Cherry’ – with a fresh look and a 4-cylinder engine with almost 250 horses – to become ‘Christine’… the ‘Infernal Bike’.
