KTM 990 ADVENTURE (2003-2012) ยฃ4500-ยฃ6,500
If youโre serious about off-road riding, but you still want a big bike thatโs capable of doing big miles, then the KTM 990 Adventure is an excellent option. Itโs more big trailie than adventure bike โ and although it might not get quite the same amount of love as the GS, itโs actually much more capable in the dirt (and a lot more fun to ride, to boot) than BMWโs behemoth.
Youโd probably expect slightly dodgy handling on the road as a result of its 21-inch front wheel and long travel suspension, but the KTM has more than enough composure on the Tarmac and only gets unsettled when the pace really hots up.

Itโs powered by the same raucous fuel-injected motor as the 990 Super Duke, and although it might struggle to settle at slower speeds, a crack of the throttle is enough to put a smile on your face.
